Intervention & Support
We believe in changing mind-sets, so that clients can live responsibly & face greater challenges.
Alcohol & drug addiction continues to be diagnosed as the biggest male social problem, followed by
women who are abused by alcohol- or drug-addicted men. Stats indicate that 80% of all domestic
violence is attributed to alcohol /drug abuse by males, whom we counsel using the worldwide 12 Steps
Program. More serious cases are referred to Rehabilitation Centres in Worcester & Klapmuts. ABBA
provides ongoing support through weekly group sessions. Quality regular after care for addicts is the
primary , key number one need to ensure sobriety – neglecting this part of recovery, leads to an
imminent relapse.
Rejoice counsels women who have been raped, as well as all people, adults & teens who are infected
by HIV/AIDS. She is co-ordinating a central HIV/AIDS support group, which attracts other NGO's and residents of Grabouw to meet once a week.

Networking On 2nd September 2011
On 2nd September ABBA hosted an Open Day for the community, to which other NGO colleagues, funders & businessmen were invited to meet our counsellors and become acquainted with our services. Visitors included key stakeholders from our social development network of NGO's, local business people & farmers; all of whom we depend upon for referrals and financial support.
Thanks to all who attended!
The ABBA Board Members, namely Rev. Neil Meyer, Steve Rabe, Simon van der Merwe & Keith August.
History is Made!
In June 2010 we moved into our brand new counselling centre, for which we are so very grateful and blessed. The Centre has 3 counselling rooms , a waiting room, play therapy room, and toy library.
